Before Pieter Visser joined Berrico as Account Manager, he was also active in the food industry. He advised international companies on the development of their European targets. Before that he was active further afield, working as an account manager for various companies in the Far East. His hobbies include football, cooking, movies and travel.
Fieke Ford-van Dijk’s interest in healthy food was kindled from a young age. So it is no surprise that she entered the food sector immediately after her degree in International Business & Management. She has found her place with Berrico and combines her sales in Southern Europe with marketing activities. Her eagerness to learn and her huge enthusiasm are channeled into setting up projects in collaboration with our customers and introducing new products. She likes to relax with fine food and a good movie.
Hugh Walter is our Sales Director UK. He began his career in the food industry as a trainee trader in London, in 1981. After this he held several different leadership roles in the sector, where he was responsible for the sourcing and sales of raw materials from all over the world. He now draws on his extensive experience for Berrico, where he takes care of sourcing seeds and sales of the entire product range in the UK and Ireland. Any free time not spent playing tennis or running half marathons, he devotes to his big passions: history, politics, travel, good food and good wine.
Foekje van Dijk began her career as a consultant. Amongst other things she set up professional networks in the care sector. With her organisational talent and problem-solving abilities, she ensures that the whole is more than the sum of the parts. Foekje channels her passion into finances, personnel management and leadership.
Rosita Chang is responsible for sourcing, logistics and quality. Owing to her Chinese roots, she is at ease forging contacts in the East, although she is an equally trusted and respected presence in the far West. Rosita manages to open doors that remain hermetically sealed to many others. She can be stubborn and determined in a charming manner. She knows the rules of the game inside out, including in Asian and South American countries. This means that Rosita often gets her way – and our customers get theirs, for that is where it all started.
Renno van Dijk was a process manager of innovative construction methods, before taking the plunge to make his love of organic and healthy foods his specialism. At that time it was a risky choice, but with hindsight it was a fortunate one. Renno is a driven proponent of product quality. As managing partner, he works on sales from the get-go and is a familiar face with our customers. In recent years, Renno has been more focussed on managing key accounts, which he does with great dedication, attention to detail and customer focus.
As Sales Director Europe, Gregory Ford’s focus is on developing new markets, new account acquisition and maintaining customer contacts. After his Bachelor’s degree in International Business & Management he attained a Master’s in International Business near London, specialised in ‘Grocery retail & category management strategies’. Keen to learn, he has already mastered all the ins and outs of our products and enjoys sharing this knowledge. In his spare time he also expands his horizon – his hobby is photography and his dream is to see the whole world.
Guillemette Bazzini is our Account Manager for the French market. As a born and bred Française she is able to communicate with our French customers in their native tongue. Experienced in our sector, Guillemette is knowledgeable about our products and their health benefits. She approaches her work with an infectious enthusiasm and an open, interested attitude. All of this she manages to combine with a large family and her passion for running.
Roy Oostweegel is our Account Manager primarily focussed on the Benelux and North European market. Roy has been part of the Berrico team since the end of 2013. His infectious enthusiasm has added value from the moment he arrived. Previously active in the supermarket sector, he moved on to work as a sales representative in confectionary (in particular chewing gum) and even branched out into advertising. But he is truly at home in the world of berries – he loves making and maintaining contacts and his passion lies with enthusing people about food products. In his spare time he performs as a singer and knows how to make an ordinary evening into a party.
Bert Jan Bakker is a true entrepreneur. He earned his stripes in the telecommunications market, managing to successfully break through the monopoly of the established institutions. Now his responsibilities include the automation of the organisational processes within Berrico. Foremost he is an enthusiastic account manager; the contacts with the customers drive him to keep finding new ways to better serve their needs. The success of the Canadian cranberry in the European market is partly attributable to his efforts.
Jitze Westra is our Logistics Assistant. He moved from banking to the food industry and now joins Erik to form Berrico’s Logistics team. With his conscientious and precise character, he ensures that all consignments are ready and are delivered to our customers on time. His big passion alongside work is to sing in the Christian men’s choir of Urk, ‘Soli Deo Gloria’.
Erik Hanekamp is our Logistics Manager. Erik understands the art of distributing more than a hundred different products to hundreds of customers. He is a true master in just-in-time distribution. Erik keeps his head cool in any circumstances. He directs his product flows with the highest accuracy and compassion. In his spare time he can be found on the football pitch, where he trains, inspires and coaches the local teams.
